English Majors’ Union

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

The English Majors Union exists to facilitate a sense of community among undergraduate English majors and promote student involvement with the life of the Duke English department.

EMU’s goals:
a. Sponsoring and promoting events to facilitate interaction among undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and other members of the surrounding intellectual community at Duke and beyond.
b. Creating opportunities to aid social interaction and professional networking between alumni, graduate students, faculty and other undergraduates.
c. Acting as a unified voice to represent and voice the concerns of undergraduate English majors and minors to faculty members of the department.
d. Providing a support network for undergraduates to address common concerns and issues regarding majoring in English at Duke.

Any undergraduate student that has declared an active major in English is eligible to join the English Majors Union, and can attend any and all General Body Meetings. English minors and undeclared majors are also welcome to attend.
